Dear Garfield Orchestra Families,
As you probably know, the Friends of Garfield Orchestra is currently in its annual fundraising campaign. We've had a great response so far, and we give our heartfelt thanks to all those who have so generously donated thus far.
Several anonymous donors have announced a matching challenge: They will match all gifts received from now through May 31, up to a total of $1,500. This is a great opportunity to contribute to FOGO if you haven't yet done so (or give more if you're so inclined), and to increase the bang for your buck.
The April 2012 edition of the FOGO Horn is now available online.
Performing in New York City’s Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, the Garfield High School Symphony Orchestra brought home the gold for the second straight year last Saturday. This week begins our Chinook book fundraiser.Sample books are distributed to each student in class, along with a folder/order from to make record keeping easier.
If you are not interested in participating, please return your book and folder (or book MUST have your name on a post it) to the box at the front of the orchestra room.
Each book sold earns the student 50% or $10 toward their account, which is often used for travel expenses.
