You are cordially invited to the nineteenth annual Winter Waltz, "On the Beautiful Blue Danube," a festive evening of waltz music played by the Garfield High School Orchestras, directed by Marcus Tsutakawa.
Sunday, January 29, 2012
7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Grand Lobby, Benaroya Hall
At the Winter Waltz, you may "dance the night away" on a large, wooden floor, specially installed to create a magnificent ballroom. Or you may simply listen to the beautiful music, watch and mingle, and enjoy leisurely conversation along with refreshments in this elegant venue.
Our special guest performers will be the Radost Folk Ensemble, performing dances of Eastern Europe.
Dave Beck of KUOW-FM, parent of a Garfield Orchestra musician, will be master of ceremonies.
Dessert, coffee and wine will be available, and there will also be a raffle for prizes. Winners will be drawn and announced during the evening.
You can brush up on your steps (or learn from scratch) with free waltz lessons from Dean Paton of the Northwest Dance Network (link www.nwdance.net)
